It’s time to wrap things up 2016. These last two weeks have seen me in planning mode. Which means someone just cracked open my head and scooped out every thought, wish and whim and replaced it with…. ideas. Lets dive in shall we?
2017 Plan – V1.0
“To market to market to buy a fat pig”… I’m taking the plunge, the spunky Erin who runs the Perth Makers Market encouraged me to “take hold of your cock man!” Metaphorically speaking… and she didn’t actually say those words. I will be heading out to sell my little Alphabites, Growls, Nibbles… and a few other goodies. I checked out the Christmas market at Elizabeth Quay held by Perth Makers Market. I was promptly bowled over, blown away and in awe of the talent that is Perth.

Of course my kids got into the festivities, they had their faces painted by Krystal Maroschek of Krystal’s Kids Parties. Made some fabulous sand paintings at The Sand Card Company stall, run by Jessica Scoble. Abigail bought herself a beautiful Silicone Necklace from the lovely Lene McConnell at IdaBee Silicone Jewellery. She hasn’t taken it off and is planning to groove on down come Christmas day wearing her new purchase… I have a feeling she will be going back for a bracelet soon!

What else has been happening? The Abby and Lee Collection is going gangbusters! I am so happy to welcome the Alphabites into the fold. The Alphabites will all be created over the next few months, in a flourish of colours, so keep your eyes on my Instagram or Facebook page for updates!

Alphabite D is always hoping things will turn out ok
Alpha-dangles are coming mid-January, for backpacks, keys.. anything really. I won’t judge if you choose to hang a little Alphabite in your bathroom. I’ll be introducing Numbites & Toothiebites, planetary neighbours to the Alphabites. Apparently we will expect to see Sweetiebites, Veggiebites and Frutiebites sometime mid next year… there are a lot of Bites in their Galaxy!
But that’s not all. Oh no, that’s not all.
Checkout Mr & Mrs Growl’s facelifts… What do you think? Mr Growl seems to either be frightened or angry, but Mrs Growl is just radiantly glowing! These guys will be available to purchase in January.

Mrs Growl (left) Mr Growl (right) are super excited about their new looks! Well Mrs Growl is anyway…
Mr & Mrs Nibble are getting an Easter makeover, naturally they are excited. It will be a hard and wonderfully exciting slog ahead, with hours of planning, testing and going back to the drawing board… bring it 2017.
Other news at Awaken the Toys include a full website redesign, with a proper swanky shop so you can get your goodies in a cleaner more fancy pants way. Etsy is also on the radar and a shop is in the process of being opened for the new year.
I went live with Awaken the Toys in May this year and have had nothing but support and encouragement from friends, family and my creative families on the interwebs. A big shout-out goes to Elly-Jo from Cats & Curiosities & Holly from Holly Potter for giving my Growls & Nibbies a place to chill out, Alphabites are heading your way soon ladies. Lacey Michelle-Hayes and The Creative Doll Artist Project… you are the craziest awesome bunch of supportive peeps, thanks for bringing us together Lacey. Emma from Handmade Connect, you are a tireless machine woman!! She unknowingly planted the seed for the Alphabites in my head. Lynette of Lynette Wilkinson Photography, you are a great friend, a fab sounding board and an amazing photographer! I feel like I’m giving an Oscars speech…. hold on… I hear the music, time to wrap it up people.

With that said, this will be my last post for 2016. Cheers, its been a blast.
